21st Century Neck Turning Lathe with Tailstock
21st Century Neck Turning Lathe with Tailstock
A drill operated Neck Turning Lathe, capable of attaining near perfect uniformity in the thickness of your case necks. Featuring a specially engineered cutting tool and an extremely fine cutting depth adjustment mechanism, this Neck Turning Lathe is able to obtain case neck thickness uniformity to within .0001”. The knurled aluminum cutting depth adjustment knob is marked in .0002” graduations, allowing for precise calibration and control of the cutting depth. The cutting mechanism features an anti-backlash set screw which eliminates any travel in the cutting assembly, prevents the cutting depth from creeping during operation, and ensures that the first case you turn will be uniform with the last.
Cutting length is controlled by the turning arbor. The arbor shoulder functions as a case stop and the lateral position of the arbor can be adjusted via a large set screw. This stop allows you to run the lathe through the full length of the cut while ensuring that all of your cases are turned to the same length.
The driver and the tool body have the freedom of movement to self-align during operation, resulting in perfectly concentric case necks. The neck turning lathe is highly customizable. The turning arbor, driver case holder and cutting tool are all easily changed to accept over 150 unique cartridges from .17 Hornet to .358 Win. The mounting brackets can be unbolted from the base plate and moved closer together or farther apart to accommodate cases of different lengths. The carbide cutting tools are custom ground in shop to match the shoulder angle of your cases. The sloped forward edge of the cutting tool helps to mate the turned and unturned surfaces of your case, providing a smooth and unblemished finish.
